Privacy Policy for Snowlore

Effective date: 20 August 2026

The short version

Snowlore has no servers, no accounts of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking. The developer receives nothing about you whatsoever.

One thing does leave your device: your scores go to Google Play Games on Android and to Apple Game Center on iPhone, so they can be ranked on the leaderboards. The game signs in to that service when it starts. Even then the scores go to Google or Apple, never to the developer.

What is stored

The game saves a single settings and progress file on your own device. It contains:

This file never leaves your phone. It is not backed up to us, because there is no "us" to back it up to. Deleting the app deletes it.

Leaderboards

When the game starts it signs in to Google Play Games on Android, or Apple Game Center on iPhone, using the account already on your device. From then on it sends your scores when they improve, so they can be ranked. Those go to Google or Apple, who rank them and show them to other players under whatever name your platform account uses.

If you would rather not appear on a leaderboard, sign out of Play Games on Android, or turn off Game Center in Settings on iPhone. Snowlore never asks to sign you back in, but be aware that the sign-in is Google's or Apple's to manage, not ours: we have watched Google restore a signed-out session by itself, and if it does, the game will use it again. The surest way to stay off a board is to sign out at the platform and check it has stayed that way.

Either way the game plays exactly the same — nothing in Snowlore is locked behind a leaderboard.

The developer of this game receives none of it. There is no server here to receive it. We never see your name, your account, or who is on the board — the platform holds all of it and we only ask it to record a number.

Signing out stops the game sending anything further. It cannot remove what has already been sent, because we never had it. Google and Apple each let you delete your own game data:

While leaderboards are on, Google's or Apple's own privacy policy governs the data they hold about you, not this one.

What is not collected

This game never collects: your name, email address or phone number. Your location. Your contacts, photos, microphone or camera. An advertising identifier. A device fingerprint. Crash or usage analytics. Cookies.

The only account involved is the Play Games or Game Center account already on your device, and the game never sees more of it than the platform chooses to show.

Permissions

The game requests vibration, used only for the crash and landing feedback you can switch off in Settings. It requests access to the motion sensors already present in your device, used only to read how you are tilting it in order to steer. Sensor readings are used in the moment and never recorded, stored or transmitted.

Snowlore reaches Google or Apple only to submit a score or show you the board. Otherwise the only time it reaches the internet is when you deliberately tap a link — the donation link or this policy — which opens in your own browser, outside the game.

Children

Snowlore is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, children included, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Feedback

The About screen has a button that opens your own email app with a message addressed to the developer. To make a report useful it arrives with three things already written in it: the game's version, your device model, and your operating system version.

Nothing is sent unless you send it yourself, and you can edit or delete any part of it — including those three lines — before you do. The game does not read your address book, does not know your email address, and sends nothing on its own. If you never tap the button, none of this happens.

Donations

The support link opens PayPal in your browser. Any payment happens entirely within PayPal and is covered by PayPal's own privacy policy. The game receives no information about it — not whether you donated, not how much, not who you are. Donating unlocks nothing in the game.

Changes

If a future version of the game changes what it collects, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change with it.
